Y△CHT is an evangelical electronic dance pop uprising spear-headed by Jona Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans. Back in the ‘90s Bechtolt, the band’s founder, was skipping high school classes and hitting the road to play drums in his brother’s punk band. He went on to delve heavily into electronic music, touring with electronic mainstays such as LCD Soundsystem and Architecture in Helinski. Fast forward through a decade, five albums, and a shared desert vision quest and you’ll find Y△CHT in its current configuration. Bechtolt and Evans joined forces in 2008, and as of 2010, they’ve added Rob Kieswetter and Jeffrey Brodsky to their live performances, emerging as everything that is now Y△CHT’s many facets—band, performance art, philosophy, and electro-cult.
